Kokum Twisted Cocktail: kokum cumin with couscous
↓ Jump to recipeQuick answer
The Kokum Twisted Cocktail mixes 30 ml Swa Kokam Cumin syrup with 60 ml white rum, vodka or gin, 5 ml lime juice and 120 ml soda, with 2 tbsp couscous added for texture. Top with ice and stir.
Why kokum?
Kokum is a dark purple fruit native to the Western Ghats, related to the mangosteen, with a tart flavour. Paired with cumin it gives a savoury-sour base that works with any white spirit.
What does the couscous do?
It adds a soft, pearl-like texture in the glass, similar to a bubble drink. It is optional if you want a cleaner serve. See our bar programmes and more Swa recipes.
