Swa Tropical Tea Cocktail Recipe

Whether it's boozy Punches made with tea and rum back in the 1700's or the fruity sips that we see at typical backyard barbeques, alcoholic iced-teas have always been a trend. Tea cocktails have been around for quite a while with hundreds of adaptations. The Gunfire (black tea and rum) was served in the British army before a morning attack or a Passing Out Parade. Punch on the other hand is a more generic term for a mix of drinks being both Alcoholic or Non-alcoholic in variety. The earliest recorded alcoholic Punches were mostly Rum-based, like the Barbadian Bajan. The product of the West Indies, Rum, adds to the beauty of this tea cocktail's flavours, drawing out tangy and sweet notes. The recipe leans towards tropical ingredients like Passion Fruit and Pineapple, a peculiar but certainly refreshing combination that smells like a vacation! Made from real fruits, the Swa Passion Fruit Tea syrup and Pineapple Bird's Eye Chilli syrup are products of local produce, free of added preservatives and colours. Pineapple from Kerala meets Bird's Eye Chilli, a Thai chili found in Sout-East Asia and Ethiopia, for an exciting twist to the palate. While Passion Fruit from Southern India mixes with Assam and Darjeeling tea for a floral and soothing blend. Be sure to kickback and relax sipping on this thirst-quenching creation.

Drinkware: Highball Glass/Mason Jar
 60 White Rum/ Dark Rum
 15 SWA Pineapple Bird's Eye Chilli Syrup
 60 Pineapple Juice
 20 Lemon Juice
