Swa Passion Fruit Mocktail Recipe
The Passion Fruit is a wonderful and exotic fruit, with many comparing its taste to that of a cross between Lemons and Mangoes. Native to the South American regions of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, it grows on vines and is actually classified as a berry due to its fleshy texture! We've crafted a Passion Fruit mocktail recipe that perfectly captures the aromatic beauty and tart, musky taste of this tropical fruit. It mainly is found in two varieties; Purple, which is smaller than a Lemon, and yellow which can grow as large as a Grapefruit. Throughout cultures and nations, the Passion Fruit is used in a number of culinary preparations and beverages. Brazilians use it as an alternative to lime in drinks, in Hawaii it is used as a topping for shaved ice treats, in Mexico it is eaten raw with chilli powder, and in the Philippines, it is served with a straw to consume! It is also known to provide healthy doses of key nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Potassium, Calcium and tons of antioxidants. The Passion Fruit is so loved and celebrated in South America, that the country of Paraguay has adopted the Passion Fruit flower as its National Flower. In India, Passion Fruit was cultivated in hilly regions and in the North, it reached the lower regions of the South much later. Today, it is popularly grown in the East and the South. Our Passionfruit mocktail recipe uses the Swa Passion Fruit Tea syrup along with some sweet Lime juice for a delicious and refreshing drink, perfect to serve at a gathering or as an afternoon sip!
- 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 3 tbsp Passionfruit Tea Syrup
- 3 tbsp Coconut Milk
- 3 Mint Leaves
- 12 Ice
- Crush ice along with mint leaves in a blender. (If you don't have a blender, do it the old fashioned way, using a rolling pin and a zip lock/ resealable bag. Put the ice in the bag, seal it tightly, and use the rolling pin to lightly bash or hit it until you reach the desired consistency.) Add chopped mint leaves and mix it with the ice.
- Fill a tall glass with crushed ice. Pour in the Passionfruit Tea syrup, prepared lemon juice and coconut milk. Stir with a cocktail stirrer or spoon and serve immediately.
